about this event

Health & Innovation District Amsterdam (HID), is introducing an event together with Miltenyi Biotec. This event brings together professionals from across the life sciences and health sector in an informal and interactive setting. The multi-stakeholder events are aimed at sharing and exchanging knowledge, industry trends, insights on new research and innovative applications. For the edition on 12 June, Miltenyi Biotec has been invited as a specialized company in Cell & Gene Therapy.

Cell and gene therapy has achieved an outstanding role in cancer treatment and recently in autoimmune diseases. However, the automation, accessibility and cost efficiency of cell and gene therapies are still subjects of discussion. In the upcoming lectures, Somayeh Rezaeifard, Ph.D., Clinical Product Specialist and Marco Guadagnoli, Ph.D., Flow Cytometry Application Specialist, will explore the solutions provided by Miltenyi Biotec for scaling up, automated and close cell manufacturing process by the CliniMACS Prodigy. They will address how these solutions facilitate the connection between cell manufacturing and IPC (In Process Control)/QC (Quality Control) flow cytometry assays.

Somayeh brings her expertise in GMP cell manufacturing, process development, scaling-up, and immunology assays related to CAR-T cells and NK cells to these upcoming lectures. Her insights, shaped by her experiences in establishing cleanrooms, conducting clinical trials and working as a scientist in both academia and the biopharma sector, will provide a deeper understanding of how advanced technologies can improve the accessibility and efficiency of cell and gene therapies.

Marco has many years’ experience in pre-clinical development of Immune-oncology and Cell & Gene Therapy products. With more than 10 years experience in flow cytometry in both Academia and Biotech companies, he will highlight the benefits of standardization and high-quality cell analysis reagents for IPC/QC assays during CAR-T cells manufacturing using Miltenyi Biotec MACSQuant-Analyzers.
